About Heidi
I am a qualified primary school teacher with a degree in Primary Education and six years of classroom teaching experience across Years 3, 4 and 5. I have experience supporting children with a wide range of abilities and learning needs, as well as preparing pupils for the 11+ entrance exams.
I am passionate about helping children develop both their academic skills and their confidence. I create a calm, encouraging learning environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and challenging themselves.
Alongside my classroom teaching, I have experience providing 1:1 tutoring in Primary English and Maths, as well as Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning for 11+ preparation. I use my experience as a teacher to ensure that lessons are well-structured, purposeful and adapted to the individual child.
Whether your child needs to build confidence, strengthen key skills or prepare for an upcoming entrance exam, I aim to make every session engaging, supportive and focused on making clear progress.

My approach to tutoring is friendly, supportive and tailored to each individual child. As a qualified primary teacher with six years of classroom experience across Years 3, 4 and 5, I understand that every child learns differently. I take the time to identify their strengths and areas for development before adapting sessions to suit their individual needs.
I aim to make lessons engaging while still providing the right level of challenge. I use a mixture of explicit teaching, worked examples, questioning, discussion and independent practice to help children develop both their understanding and confidence. For 11+ preparation, I also focus on developing effective strategies, exam technique and time management, helping children to understand how to approach different question types rather than simply learning answers.
Lessons are typically one hour and are delivered online on a 1:1 basis. Sessions can be adapted depending on the child's age, ability and attention span.
I offer tutoring for Primary-aged children, particularly Years 3–6, as well as children preparing for the 11+ entrance exams. This includes English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. I can provide support for children who need to build confidence and close gaps in their learning, as well as those looking for additional challenge and extension.
My aim is for every child to finish a session feeling that they have made progress, understood something new and feel more confident tackling it independently.
