About Katharine
I’m a calm, patient tutor with over a decade of experience supporting children through home education, Early Years, and SEND needs. I specialise in helping learners who need a gentle, structured approach — including those with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, anxiety, or low confidence.
I've spent 10+ years as an Ofsted-registered childminder and supporting home-educated children across the Primary curriculum. I also teach AQA GCSE Sociology with a 100% pass rate among my students!
My approach is warm, reassuring, and confidence‑focused. I meet each child exactly where they are, break tasks into manageable steps, and explain things clearly until they “click”. I never rush or overwhelm. My priority is always emotional safety and steady progress.

My lessons are calm, structured, and personalised to your child’s pace. I use clear explanations, visual supports, and small achievable steps to build confidence without overwhelm. Every session is adapted to your child’s needs, strengths, and processing style.
I offer support with:

• SPaG
• Primary Maths, Geography, Science and History (KS1-KS2)
• SEN support (anxiety, ASD traits, ADHD, slow processing, dyslexia‑style needs)

First lesson
In our first lesson, I take time to get to know your child — what they enjoy, what they find difficult, and how they learn best. I gently assess their current level through conversation and simple tasks, then create a personalised plan. The goal of the first session is to help your child feel comfortable, understood, and confident.
