I am an experienced and qualified teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience in Germany and the UK. I have taught German, English/ESOL, Geography and PE, and have also taught German online.
My lessons are friendly, structured and adapted to each student’s needs. I use a mixture of conversation, clear explanations, visual resources, interactive activities, games and practical exercises to help students understand and remember what they are learning. I particularly enjoy making grammar easier to understand and helping students become more confident using German.
All lessons, pace and content are adapted to the student’s age, level and individual goals.
I offer lessons for primary and secondary school students, KS3 and GCSE learners, beginners, and bilingual children who would like to strengthen their German. I can support schoolwork, grammar, vocabulary, speaking, writing and exam preparation, or simply help students develop greater confidence in German.
My aim is for students to feel comfortable making mistakes, ask questions and gradually become more independent and confident German speakers.

I can highly recommend Kara. She is a very experienced and enthusiastic teacher. She is very friendly and reliable, great at explaining grammatical concepts and tailoring the lessons to her students’ needs.
Kara is always so great with my kids and also with youth. As a teacher with more than 20 years of experience, fluently bilingual, she just has such nice and calm and yet fun way with kids. Very gentle hearted and understanding, yet disciplined enough to lead them into their goals. Signing my kids up again for German lessons, because they love her so much.
