About Mellow
Known for my smooth skate style and patient nature. Roller skating is my exercise, my meditation and my creative vessel. I teach skate classes, create roller skate tutorial videos and make skate films. Over the past few years, I have been teaching group roller skate lessons 2 to 3 times a week and making some popular online skate tutorials. My specialism is in skating in freestyle dance or jam skating, but I am a skilled all-round skater with experience in many styles. I learnt to skate at a young age, playing roller hockey and street skating, and this transitioned into a focus on dance skating after discovering roller discos, skate dance, and the emerging roller skate scene that has really developed over the last 4 or 5 years. I’m known to be a calm but patient teacher who offers very precise feedback and can take you from your first steps to flowing and feeling freely on skates.

We all have a unique journey and different motivations for skating - to have fun, learn something new, join a community, keep fit, or find a place of calm in busy lives or a combination of it all. It might be your first day on skates, or you might want to learn how to dance, skate in parks and outdoors or learn some popular tricks, moves and routines. Depending on your level of skating and the style of skating you want to learn, we will use various exercises to encourage the use of our whole body to skate and develop the balance and strength required. For more intermediate skaters, we will draw inspiration from my smooth, technical style, as well as ideas from the thriving global skate scene, to work through key skate moves and techniques. I aim to help get you comfortable and elevate your skating wherever you are on your skate journey.

** There is a small fee (£8.50 per person) to access the skate space, paid directly to the venue and bookable online. Access is for up to 3 hours, so you can arrive early or stay a bit longer to get in some extra practice time!
