I currently manage the operational quality assurance across the operations an sector IT specific training organization, my role included but is not limited to:

• To lead a culture of high standards and expectations amongst the operations team to achievement of outstanding
• Support and help drive the quality change management agenda of the organization
• Supporting and participating in talent management and development activities
• Lead on the quality vision and strategies, including policies and procedures.
• Driving the organisations quality agenda in order to enrich the students’ learning experiences and significantly enhance success rates, softer skills, and work readiness

Achievements and responsibilities:

I managed a team of 12 multi-disciplined trainer/assessors and lecturing staff delivering HNC in Computing, AAT, ILM management, business, customer service and hospitality within the faculty of Apprenticeships at Sunderland College, my role includes but was not limited to:

• Quality coordination and assurance across 25 qualification and multi levels up to level 5
• Implementation of new processes and monitoring system, increasing success across curriculum area from 48% to 72.4% timely within 2 years, and DCS across all delivered programs
• Cross college roll out and monitoring of quality of Teaching, Learning and Assessment using Smart Assessor
• Writing self-assessment reports and quality improvement plans to Ofsted requirements ensuring area is prepared for internal and Ofsted inspection
• Led as nominee for recent internal Inspection resulting in a grade of 2
• Developed strategic partnerships with local employers and partners
• Sub-contractor management of 5 partner organisations
• Leading cross-college working group to develop use of Smart Assessor e-portfolio system to implement full college use for all apprenticeships

I worked for Lewisham College for 5 years, a Further Education College in London offering a range of A Level courses, vocational programmes and apprenticeships. I managed mostly vocational work-based learning courses. In 2010-2012 I was Acting Curriculum Manager/Lead Verifier for Apprenticeships, NVQ’s and AAT I was involved in the college’s observation team and lead on an Ofsted visit for Apprenticeships in addition to:

• Coordination and introduction of new curriculum
• Quality improvement and course evaluation and reporting to senior quality panels to review the curriculum to ensure it is fit for purpose using the Quality Improvement Process.
• Appraisals, CPD and mentoring of staff in their teaching/assessing qualifications
• Leading standardisation, team meetings and quality assurance processes, including preparation for internal and external inspection
• Liaising with Awarding Body, SV’s and external agencies as appropriate to the role.
• Lead IQA for Management, Business Administration, Customer Service and IT ensuring awarding body standards and compliance was met
• Observation of teaching, learning and assessment
• Reintrodutcion and managing the AAT programme within the department, to grow and increase retention and reputation
• Anuualy timetabling of tutors hours, VT’s and room allocation
