About Charmaine
I have 15 years experience as a Class Teacher, ELSA therapist and over 14 years as a Private Tutor. I left teaching recently to focus on providing personalised support (through tutoring and home schooling) to children who are finding school difficult or who are struggling to access the National Curriculum. I have now expanded to include tutoring adults in Reading and Maths. I live in Surrey and have two very friendly cats!

I currently offer both face to face tutoring, 1:1 or small group tutoring. I cater for each child's specific needs through appropriate differentiation and their individual interests. I strive to make the learning fun and engaging, and adapt the lesson as we go to ensure the most enjoyment and motivation. My lessons are 1 hour long, depending on the needs and abilities of the child. I cover the the ages from KS1 up to GCSE in both Maths and English. I also offer home schooling sessions to individuals who are unable to access the mainstream education system, whether it be from a SEND need or from anxiety for example. These sessions cover the core subjects as well as teaching life skills such as cooking, woodwork and sewing etc. In addition to this, I offer discrete tutoring for adults in Maths and English (reading).
