About Charmaine
I have 15 years experience as a Class Teacher, ELSA therapist and Private Tutor. I left teaching last year to focus on providing personalised support (through tutoring and home schooling) to children who are finding school difficult or who are struggling to access the National Curriculum. I have now expanded to include tutoring adults in Reading and Maths. I live in Surrey and have two very friendly cats!

I currently offer both face to face tutoring as well as online 1:1 or small group tutoring. I cater for each child's specific needs through appropriate differentiation and their individual interests. I strive to make the learning fun and engaging, and adapt the lesson as we go to ensure the most enjoyment and motivation. My lessons are 1 hour long, depending on the needs and abilities of the child. I cover the the ages from KS1 up to GCSE in both English and Maths. I also offer home schooling sessions to individuals who are unable to access the mainstream education system, whether it be from a SEND need or from anxiety for example. These sessions cover the core subjects as well as teaching life skills such as cooking, woodwork and sewing etc. In addition to this, I offer discrete tutoring for adults in Maths and English (reading).
