About Victoria
Tutoring English skills for secondary and undergraduate students for four years.
Students have achieved a minimum of two grade improvement from exam/prelim before tuition to final exam, with one student going from a fail to an A in four months (with lots of hard work on their part), and all undergraduate students have achieved 2.1 grades in finals so far.

I am an experienced tutor with an undergraduate degree in History and Philosophy of Science (Cambridge) and currently reading for two postgraduate degrees.
I concentrate on the skillset needed for secondary English exams and for essay writing at undergraduate level with tuition in: essay writing skills; critical reading, thinking and writing; close reading skills; and general English grammar as required.
I believe English reading and writing to be vital skills for all areas of education, not just English classes, and my tuition concentrates on improving those skills as a whole rather than tricks to pass an English exam. I have, however, had students go from failing prelims to A grades in the final exam - so it seems to be a system that works!
I do set homework, and I expect students to complete work outside of sessions.

Details
I also charge £10 per essay for undergraduate essay help via email for students who have had a lesson with me on essay writing previously. This includes two draft read-throughs per essay with comments, however to abide by most university proof-reading rules I won't edit the actual document itself, just advise of errors, changes to structure etc.
