About Merrow
I use a strength-focused approach to increase self-esteem, and I like to have fun! I am passionate about learning and I am always looking to learn more, and my enthusiasm passes on to the kids/youth I have worked with in the past. I am personable, and I have experience with kids from ages 2 to 12.
I love working with kids, and I love learning with them. The connections I have made with the kids I have worked with have lasted even after I have left the family, and that is one of the most rewarding parts of this work. Getting to share what I love and see kids get excited about it too is incredible!
I was an education major at Vassar College, which helped me learn how to teach elementary students through adolescents. I excelled in writing, history, and visual art in high school and college. I also have worked in a preschool where I planned educational and engaging crafts, and in private residences where I have helped with homework and remote learning. In all of these experiences, I incorporated my love of the arts, visual art and music primarily, and having kids realize that they are creative and artistic is a joy.
