He knows things

He is a very engaged but calm instructor. You can tell when a CFI is just going through the motions to build hours. Akshay takes the time to build a relationship with students and use their motivations to enhance the training direction and results.

I met Akshay in an fbo while waiting to take a check-ride. As luck would have it, my checkride never started due to my cross country flights not qualifying (only 48nm from origin, not the required 50). At that point I realized I needed a different cfi and thought of Akshay. He made himself available immediately to help me finish up the requirements- we flew nearly five hours on a Sunday to knock out solo long cross country prep and night flight requirements. During that time Akshay taught me ways to use VOR’s to navigate, tips on how to better hold a proper glideslope into landing, and how to plan for top of climb/descent....things I had not been taught in over 50 hours of previous instruction. I highly recommend Akshay as a CFI.

Akshay is a great mix of awesome teaching skills and a kind demeanor. He is a skilled pilot and knowledgeable instructor who makes you want to strive for excellence.
