About Jacob
I graduated from Howell High School and have been playing the Bagpipes since 2010. I want to see each and every student succeed.
Music is an amazing thing. I fell in love with music in high school and have since graduated with a major in music from Eastern Michigan University. Bagpipes are a unique instrument that take alot of time and dedication to learn. I always enjoy sharing this with new people!
I learned to play the pipes in high school, around 2010, and have been playing and studying the pipes ever since.

For a first lesson on bagpipes, I have students try long and short practice chanters. Then we start by learning the notes, and simple grace notes. Over time we learn more complex songs for the bagpipes requiring a broader vocabulary of grace note patterns. When the music on the chanter is easy, we move to the bag part of the pipes and start lung development and eventually you are playing the pipes!
