About Najwa
I am all around, a very patient and understanding individual. I see a lot of children in my family and friends that fall behind in school because they struggle with the self confidence and discipline. So in retrospect, I believe that it is in the best interest of what the child-student needs essentially. I make it an effort to form a foundation of trust and a safe space for my student and I to be able to communicate clearly when working on assignments. My experience mostly consists of working with children both on and off the autistic spectrum for about 5 years in total. My teachings with them were based around sensory and movement, as well as creative and visual arts. I worked at my first job for 3 years in a summer school camp, teaching performing arts as well visual and creative workshops. Then, later on in life as I worked in different fields, whether it was life guarding, in church, or at home, I found that I am always put in a position of mentorship and leadership for the younger youth. I am still paving my way in my career, but I always knew one thing for sure is that I'd work a job I felt passionately about and teaching has always been a positive influence in my life despite the title of the position. I hope this informations paints me as the person I truly am. Thank you!
What I enjoy about my work is that I get to make an impact on a child's life. I always think about how if I had a tutor or some extra guidance in school, I would've probably ended up doing a lot better for myself in a much shorter time frame so I compensate that feeling with making a difference in a child's life by boosting their confidence in school.
