About Eli
"As an educator and musician, I love helping people overcome their limits and achieve new things"
Originally from Northampton Massachusetts, Eli Heath is an emerging American bassist, composer, and musical director. He has appeared on recordings and at major festivals and venues across North America, Europe, and Brazil with artists including Kenny Werner, Luciana Souza, Charles Neville, Dominick Farinacci, and Jamey Haddad. As an educator, Eli has taught upright and electric bass to students of all ages and abilities for over 7 years and has presented workshops at Jazz YYC in Alberta, Canada; Jazz In June in Norman, Oklahoma; and the Dominican Republic Jazz Festival.
Eli holds a BM/BA from Oberlin College and Conservatory in Africana Studies and Jazz Performance and a MM in Contemporary Performance from the Berklee Global Jazz Institute in Boston where he studiedd with John Patitucci, Linda Oh, Joe Lovano, Danilo Perez, and Terri Lyne Carrington.

I customize my approach and content to match the learning style and musical interests of each new student. When I work with someone for the first time I like to get to know a little bit about their previous experience and musical background first and then begin creating a unique curriculum to help them reach their goals.
