About Jonathan
I’m currently a professional double bassist working orchestrally in both the Lansing Symphony Orchestra and Grand Rapids Symphony based in Lansing, MI. I’m available to teach lessons on the double bass, electric bass, and viola da gamba (bass viol) to students of all ages. I welcome adult beginners! I have B.M and M.M. degrees in music performance from Michigan State University and Rice University respectively.
I’ve always had a strong passion to teach and have taught privately/run sectionals in all the surrounding school districts I’ve lived in in Michigan, Texas, and Florida since 2001. I am also Suzuki certified to teach the bass. I look forward to meeting and working with you to achieve your goals!
