About Speedy
I believe in personalizing music! We don't learn music to learn technique and theory, but because we want to express ourselves. After years of formal music education and a Bachelor's from Berklee College of Music, I've developed strategies for integrating the study of technique and theory into learning music and songs that YOU love. Whether you love jazz, pop, indie rock, heavy metal, or anything in-between, I believe that together we can further our passion for music while studying how to sound like your favorite artists.
Though it comes with a lot of dedication and hard work, teaching is one of the great joys of life. Witnessing someone becoming passionate and curious about a subject you're passionate about is a life-giving experience, and I want students to know how talented they are, and that, with enough hard work, they can sound just like their favorite band.
I'm a professional bassist, composer, and producer based out of Los Angeles, Cali. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2019 with a dual degree in Contemporary Writing and Production and Bass Performance.
During my years on the east coast, I took the stage at many New-England based venues, including The Boston Exhibition and Convention Center, The Berklee Performance Center, The Music Hall in Portsmouth, and many others performing with artists such as Tia Ray, Nana Ouyang, Insaneintherain, Sophia Lanuza and Sam Robbins. I've also spent time recording with artists like Inmo Yang and BASTARZ of Block B, as well as taking part in international tours in South Korea and Kenya.

Typically, I figure out why my students are interested in learning bass. What's their favorite music, who's their favorite bassist, questions like these lead me to a greater understanding of why they love music. Then I'll typically ask them to play something they feel comfortable playing. From there, I can assess the student's level and plan my lessons accordingly. I'll usually try and focus on a couple of subjects at a time, one being technique-based and one being theory-based, ideally using music that my student is interested in.
