About Samantha
Since 2011, I've been a proud member of IAMPETH, the International Association of Master Penmen and Teachers of Handwriting and love helping new students of the craft refine and hone their skills. Through one on one or small group lessons we will become familiar with the tools and techniques to help you improve your calligraphy.

Through Instagram, people have followed my work and have contacted me for lessons. I enjoy the process of breaking down letters in an easy-to-understand way and teaching students to see proportions and spacing and to apply it to their own writing.

About the lesson

Before our first meeting, we'll chat about your experience and your goals. After we determine what you would like to study, we'll book our first meeting where we will go over tools and I'll lay out a game plan to help you accomplish your scripting goals.
I provide my basic calligraphy kit including a pen holder, some ink and guidelines to help you get started.
I've worked with people who've never picked up a pen before, as young as 12 years old to intermediate students who'd like to refine their scripts.
I fell in love with calligraphy after seeing a picture online. I didn't even know what the script was called, but I chased down the name of the teacher and signed up for a workshop with her as soon as I could. My best advice is - if you're not inspired by your potential teacher's work, you probably should find a teacher's work that does.
My calligraphy was recently featured on the cover of Martha Stewart Weddings magazine. There's just something about seeing your work in print that is indescribable :)
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What calligraphy hand would they like to study? There are so many things I wanted to learn when I first started that I couldn't focus. Start with one script first and that will a) help you to gain mastery over your tool and create a foundation upon which to learn other styles and b) help you hone in on a teacher.
