About Lauren
I got started teaching because I had so many requests to learn the beautiful art of calligraphy! It is truly one of my favorite things, so it has been such a joy to share this art with others through teaching.
I have been practicing modern calligraphy since 2015, and have had the honor of having my work featured in print and online at places like Every Last Detail, Martha Stewart Weddings, Inspired by This, Coastal Virginia Magazine and Carolina Bride Magazine.

Each student is different, so I start out each lesson with the basics, and adapt the lesson based on the individual student, and their strengths and weaknesses.
I have worked with men and women of all ages, and have truly enjoyed working with each type of student! You do not have to have good handwriting, or be artistic to be successful at calligraphy, and there is no age minimum or maximum! Because of the detailed nature of calligraphy, lessons would be best for children who are naturally self-disciplined and detail-oriented! Every child is different, so there's no set age.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Just like with any teacher, pick someone that you will enjoy spending time with, and who will be patient, helpful and reassuring as you learn! It is important to me to give constructive feedback, so that I am encouraging you with compliments, but also correcting as needed so that you truly are learning and honing your skills!

Details
Yes, individual Introduction to Modern Calligraphy classes are $225 per student, which includes all of the supplies that you'll need to practice calligraphy (my favorite nibs, nib holder, ink, practice sheets, and nib cleaner), which you get to keep to continue practicing after the lesson.
