About Chandrakanth
I am an Associate professor at Western Kentucky University and have teaching and research experience in introductory, advanced and general biology, biochemistry, Plant Sciences (General and advanced botany/plant biotechnology), cell and molecular biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, and Bioinformatics at undergraduate and graduate level at university and college. I have also taught Anatomy and Physiology, Zoology, introductory, general and advanced Chemistry (including organic chemistry) at the community college and university level.
I work with individual students paying close attention to their specific learning needs and my teaching philosophy is based on the premise of deep learning where the student learns with assimilation and understanding, and not rote learning that would mean just collecting facts without understanding the concepts.
I provide detailed notes in the form of easy to understand powerpoint slides and test banks with questions that help students in acing their exams.
I also introduce students to the scientific process and research where they can conduct and publish their research from the comfort of their home in an online environment. Students could convert their class projects to publishable articles.
I worked with students at community colleges, universities and even middle and high school students in all the scientific areas.
Teaching is my passion and I believe that I grow as a learner and scientist when I teach. When I teach an individual student, the one aspect that I love is that we mutually grow as individuals developing a love for the subject as we explore the newer frontiers of knowledge.
I have a triple major undergraduate degree majoring in Genetics, Zoology and Chemistry, a Master's in Biochemistry and a PhD in Genetics. I was a Rockefeller Foundation Research fellow who conducted research in plant Molecular biology at Texas A&M University where my research led to patents in the area of Plant biotechnology. Currently, I work as an Associate Profesor at Western Kentucky University (since 2010) and my profile can be viewed at:

For over 10 years, I have taught undergraduate, community college, and graduate students and also worked with high school students involving them in research as well.
I have an undergraduate triple major degree in Genetics, Zoology and Chemistry; A Master's in Biochemistry, a PhD in Genetics and Plant Molecular Biology with more than 10 years teaching and research experience in these areas. I work with students online and lead them through individual sessions in focussed topics according to their specific needs. All my lessons are accompanied with detailed easy to understand powerpoint slides that serve as notes that help the student fully understand and assimilate topics along with test question banks that aid in acing their exams.
