About Marie
After a career as a scientist and then a teacher, I enjoy working individually with students. By using assessment tools, I help the student to identify their strengths and weaknesses and use these to plot a path through which they can accomplish their goals.
I have a PhD in Biochemistry and my first career was as a scientist investigating gene expression. My second career was teaching science in High School. These two careers have given me a deep understanding of science and the ability to work with individual students to understand why they are having difficulty with science and find ways to work through these difficulties to achieve success.

I like to get to know the student, what are their interests, their strengths and why they have decided on tutoring. Following that I like to use an assessment tool to evaluate the student's strengths in science, generally, and their choosen subject, specifically.
