About Tavia
Hello
My name is Tavia Adams or Coach T as my students call me. I am a National Award winning choreographer who has been teaching dance for over 20 years. I can teach cheer dance, ballet, tap modern, jazz but my speciality and favorite is Hip Hop. I have coached a number of dance teams to the National Championships. I'm also a choreographer for weddings and pageants. I'm currently the owner of Central Florida Hip Hop Academy.

I got started teaching in church in the 90s. I opened up one of the first Christian Performing arts schools in the Washing DC Area.
I've trained at a number of studios in the Washington DC area. Dance Place and The Washington School Of Ballet. I've also done some master training and a number of workshops around the US.

When working with a new student I typically trying to find out first of all their skill level Im very good with using their skill level that they're on and I make them look amazing. My beginner students always come in 1st place after a few months of practice with me.
I've worked with all types of students from beginner to advance. I even worked with students with disabilities such as ADHD and autism.
Check their background and see what kind is teach they are not all good good dancers make good dance teachers. Some think just because a person is good at dancing that they will be good teachers and that's not so. A good dance teacher is going to make you look amazing at whatever skill level your on.
I recent performance that I'm fond of is I just did my own special performance for Disney with my dance studio
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think the student should really have in mind exactly what they want and what they expect from their experience with the teacher. Some students have unrealistic expectations of a dance studio. Example they want you to make them look like Beyonce when they just don't have the skill. They expect the teacher to have a magic wand and turn them into Beyonce over night. It takes time to acquire skill. But then there are some that are born with instant swag and those that learn it.

My daughter is on her 3rd year at, Central Florida Hip Hop. She has developed a love for dance and amazing skills and has become part of a dance family!! All thanks to Coach T!!
