About Shanda
Welcome! My 1-1 teaching focuses on learning the basics of composition and building skill from there, not teaching students to paint individual paintings like in ‘paint parties’ (though I do those too!). I started drawing at six, painting watercolor at 14, went to school for art education and have 20 years as a professional artist. I believe I can engage any curious or dedicated student and that artistic abilities are learned and practiced, not a talent we are born with.
