About Alan
My name is Alan Maymo and I am a French, martial arts and art instructor and have taught all for many years. I have taught in France, Spain, Switzerland and the United States. Now, I live in Florida with my wife and cute puppy and continue my passions and teaching.
My French classes are open to all ages; my purpose is to help people develop their communication skills in French, whether it is for work, travel, academic purposes or pure interest.
I am also a professional artist ((concealed information) and certified art instructor with a unique system for teaching art from beginners to advanced. I had my own art school in Switzerland and have done many exhibitions around the world.
As a 5th degree black belt with a specialty in self defense systems, I take pride in teaching people how to protect themselves in various situations. Private and group classes.
FRENCH: I love helping people reach their goals and communicate in a new language. I also enjoy sharing French culture. Language is culture, so you can't really separate the two and there is always a cultural exchange between a student and teacher.
MARTIAL ARTS: One of my greatest passions is helping people develop self confidence, self protection and other important martial arts skills (perseverance, self esteem, determination, discipline, etc.,) and to apply these skills to every day life.
ART: Teaching art is a passion as I love to help people open their mind and express their creativity!
Growing up trilingual it became natural for me to be a lover of languages and to cultivate that background into a profession. My health and fitness interests have spanned my whole life and led me down the warrior path of martial arts. My love of art started as a child and creative expression is one of the best gifts of life.
I studied my undergraduate at the University of Strasbourg, France. I have a Berlitz certificate in teaching French. I speak 4 languages fluently and I am a professional interpreter of English/Spanish and French. I have taught French for many years.
I am a certified art teacher and attended art school in France and Switzerland. I teach complete beginners to advanced students.
I am a 5th degree black belt and master founder of JUSAMKIBO, a recognized self defense martial arts system. I have been inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame in Spain.

For Martial Arts: Make sure the person is qualified with bonafide martial arts qualifications from a professional organization.

Perfect! Alan is an excellent teacher who accommodates his lessons to my learning style - I like lots of conversational practice so I can learn how to speak the language. Alan's passions in painting and art, martial arts, writing and poetry, culinary arts, fitness and nutrition and lots of worldly experience make him a very interesting person to learn with. In addition to that, he is professional, punctual, has a great sense of humor make studying with him is effective and fun. Having studied with several teachers throughout my language learning journey, I can affirm that Alan is one of the best French teachers there is!

Alan is an excellent teacher. I highly recommend his classes.
Alan was an amazing self defense instructor. I took private lessons with him and group lessons. He has the ability to customize the lessons for individual needs and fitness levels.
