About April
I am able to meet people where they are in their visual arts journey and help them gain skills and knowledge. I was classically trained in drawing and painting and love to share these skills. My personal artwork is more expressive but it is supported by this formal training, which I believe every artist can benefit from acquiring.
I also love to help people be able to integrate art into their home life and I encourage one to build a personal practice outside of lessons.
Art is such a beautiful subject to discuss and learn about. Art has helped me and is really at the core of my personality, so I love to share all the knowledge I have, and learn from my students as well.
I studied at the GAGE Academy in Seattle, WA with Kimberly Trowbridge
and Geoff Flack. I am currently at Metro State College studying
to be an Elementary School Art Teacher because I want to share
the healing empowerment- of making art -with people of an early age.

About the lesson

First I like touch base with my students by way of email or phone- to discuss: what artist they like, talk about materials, technique, and style. Then I will tailor a lesson to their interests.
Secondly, we can meet up and go through the personalized session. This will be about one to two hours depending on the preference. Then I can share some additional resources that I use to study. I am happy to work with students for more than one session. But ultimately I work to help students become self-sufficient in their practice.
