About Amy Eileen
I have a BFA in painting. Additionally I've been knitting and sewing since I was nine years old. I have lots of experience teaching both groups and one on one. I thinking learning should be fun and stress free.
I live creating new things, and the sense of history connecting me to other people who have painted, quilted, knit and crocheted in the past.
My first students were friends and neighbors. I taught my best friend to knit on the phone. I taught my first class in a quilt shop in 2001. I've taught in shops and guilds all over Florida.
I have a Bachelor's of Fine Art gettin the University of Florida, where my concentration was painting.
My grandmother taught hand embroidery to me, and my father taught me to knit. I have made traditional and art quilts for many years. My quilts have appeared at the Festival in Houston and in several books.
I also crochet, do crossstitch, needlepoint and hand applique. I have a Pfaff embroidery machine which I use for many different types of sewing.
