About Elijah
I am an artist from Houston Texas, with a passion for helping others express themselves in a creative way! I am formally trained in art and art history. I provide lessons to people that have never picked up a brush to those who feel their expert in their crafts looking for some new skills.
Sharing my passion with others. I love making people smile and having conversations that enrich life. I believe art has a way of doing that.
I started teaching in college. It started off with sports and coaching. From there I went on to teach swming and safety lessons. From there as I got more into my degree I gravitated over to my work as an artist.
I have a bachelor's degree in Art and a masters degree in Arts Leadership. I am currently a professional artist and curator. I have also been a museum docent, teacher, guide since I was in my undergraduate studies.

I love finding out what my students are passionate about. I believe passion, craftsmanship, and the artists connection to the subject matter is what makes great work. Much of my teaching process involves getting my student to find what they personally love about what they can make and using their own observation skills
It sounds cliché to say all types. However, I have taught ages two all the way past sixty years old. I have been a coach and a teacher. Academically it has been mainly art and art history. So mainly students on the creative side. Coaching I have worked with all ages and skills levels.
Be open to critique. Art is subjective, but can always be improved. Be open to trying new techniques and practices. Find what is unique about you and what you like about your work.
Most recently I hosted my solo art exhibition. I think I was so fond of this one because I did everything myself. I started my own production company this year and have been getting into events and project management. This was my largest solo event and it was a huge success!
