About Marsha
My education comes from the many hours I have spent drawing, painting, reading art books, and taking workshops. These workshops are from a variety of exceptional local and Nationally known professional artists. I continue even now to look for instructors for a yearly workshop that can take me out of my comfort zone and give me new thoughts and ideas to continue in my art career, on my learning journey, and to help my teaching.

My typical teaching is done in my studio privately for a three hour session. I do not want students to come every week! I tell students they should not come more than a couple of times per month so they can learn to work on their own and make all the mistakes an artist needs to make. These sessions are scheduled to fit the student and the teacher's schedules.
I prefer students to show me what they have been working on so I can know where I need to help them. I ask many questions about what they are wanting to do, what kind of artwork inspires them, and what previous experiences in painting they have. We both paint during the session so (1) I am not not hovering over their shoulder, and (2) they can also watch me work. There are many stops and starts, and many discussions that go on during that three hour session. Many times homework is given on specific needs that are identified during the session.
I do teach workshops that are 3 to 5 days at locations other than my studio.

My standard pricing is 3-hour lesson and $120 for a private student. I only teach in the mornings. No evening sessions.
