About Carol
I am a Navy Veteran, living with a non curable weird chronic síndrome, diagnosed with “Dysautonomia= Disorder of the Autonomic Nervous System” three years after all the simptoms started and acknowledged by my physicians and my insurance one year after that! I have been depressed and with PTSD symptoms since 2013. It’s been six years and still having problems with doctors and nurses that do not know or acknowledge the type of Dysautonomia I have, “POTS Hipenergenic type II, and a bunch of other conditions that come together!
Exactly January 01, 2015 my life was over, that day, after feeling I can’t do .... since around June 2012; this day marked my first day I accepted my defeat, I cried out loud no more, I don’t have a drop of energy and I don’t want to pretend anymore! Doctors are puzzled!, my family are puzzled!, my friends and colleagues, customers are puzzled!. I declare a sickness was more powerful than my proud, my image, my career, and nobody understood why was I doing, or talking about when I didn’t show or looked like having any sickness at all.
I hit the bottom of feeling sick! I slept all day, and nights, then I had insomnia that lasted forever, I had every single medical test and blood work available, I notice my plans on getting better and joining the military again was just a dream that was becoming invisible and impossible every day! My abilities of being a good wife, mother, sister, and friend, all went away and I became the one that lives in isolation! I have had some times of positive thoughts and doing what I can with what my body allows me; and I have had some bad moments of depression deception, impotence and defeat!.
I have an an amazing help from my husband, my son, my two daughters and some of my doctors! I don’t have a lot of relatives and the ones that matter are so far away! Without them I would be gone! I still don’t have SSAdysability or VAdysability. Bad luck or bad network! In conclusion there is only one thing that can get me to forget the bad childhood I had, the people that hurt me and took advantage of me and the bad men that killed my strength and confidence! Art!
