About Michael
I taught drawing at the university level - undergrad and grad - for several years, drawing from observation and figure drawing, both in the States and in Florence, Italy. I also have an MFA in painting and printmaking and an MA in Art History.
I teach to the individual's level, in particular I like teaching those who, for whatever reason, drew when they were younger and want to get back into it.
I combine drawing lessons with examples from the history of art, along with a description of the background to the specific examples I choose.
Drawing is not just an art technique, it is also a means of perception. I think it is as important as writing.
Also, given my experience teaching all levels, I know that anyone can draw and that their drawings will be as unique as they are.
I really enjoy helping people realize thier abilities in art.
