About Derek
I have been a drummer in my church since a very young age. When I first picked up a pair of sticks I fell in love right away! I am exited to share the knowledge I have gained over these 10 years of playing drums.

I got started when someone was interested on playing. So I taught him the basics and he lifted off from there. Now he plays for his church.
I have worked with a couple of students before and I am looking to further my musical knowledge through school.

I like to build a relationship of trust between myself and my student. I want my student to be comfortable asking me any questions they have and I will gladly answere them.
Most of my students have been friends. With little expirence.
Get help! Having a teacher is crucial. You can save years of trial and error by listening to people who have already been through what you are experiencing.
I play twice a week at my church. I'd say every time I get on the kit is an event I am fond of.
