About Timothy
My goal as an educator is to give my students the tools to allow them to play in a way that makes them feel accomplished and brings them joy. I am very serious about teaching the fundamentals of drumming, as it allows you to begin learning self-sufficiently, and that way you can keep learning in a streamlined way for life. That being said, learning songs of many styles is also essential, and is so much fun to do! Playing along with records is one of the best forms of practice. I'm ready to help you learn whatever you want to bring me, and if you're looking for direction in what you should learn, I'd love to lead you down paths you might enjoy!
I love teaching for many reasons, but one reason that stands out is that I enjoy seeing a concept "click" with a student. Having spent countless hours practicing my instrument, I know the frustration of trying to grasp an idea, followed by the satisfaction of finally being able to execute it on the drums. Seeing that process and the growth in others is so inspiring and motivates me to keep practicing too!
