Ray's private lessons have the personal attention to technique, musicallity, and rhythmic artistry. Ray's students are professional performers, teachers at the elementary and collegiate level, and regular recipeints of competitive honors. Whether you want to learn more to enjoy music on another level, or would like to get the honor you deserve on that next audition, Ray can help! Ray has master's degree in music performance and a bachelor's degree in music education. He has performed professionally as a steel drum musician and percussionist for over 30yrs, and taught marching bands, jazz bands, rock groups, and summer drum camps all across the South. All styles and genres of music are included with lessons from Ray, and all students have fun studying with a seasoned professional.
I love music.... I mainly play steel drum professionally ((concealed information) but have extensive background in marching percussion (Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps), melodic percussion, hand drums, and drumset. I love variety in my musical life and enjoy meeting new students and sharing what I've learned from other teachers I've had. Music is something to be passed down from generation to generation. I really love finding that special tip or trick that's going to connect with the student, inspire, and turn them on to the next level!
