About Evan
Hello I am Evan Carrillo, 23 years old with about 13 years of playing experience. I've played at the middle school, high school, and college level. I'm currently in my last year of majoring in Jazz Studies at the wonderful California State University of Northridge.
I've played in Big Bands and small jazz groups for the past 6-7 years. So, I know how to read music and I like to integrate that with each of my students.
Recently, in May of 2021 I was awarded CSUN Jazz A Band Student of the year. CSUN's A Band is the top Big Band at the university and is well respected amongst other top music programs.
I'm all about working on what my student is passionate about and expanding on that subject so that they are able to be creative and unique with whatever genre they are into!
