About Emunti
Hello! My name is Emunti and I play drums!
I grew up in OUSD and learned from many great teachers such as Zack Pitt-Smith, David Byrd, and Helena Jack-Moss. It started in middle school, I’d walk into the band room and practice to whatever was in my headphones ( Blink -182, Korn) and sure enough Mr. Pitt-Smith heard and asked me to join the jazz band.
He taught how to read sheet music and I’ve managed to retain the knowledge. While I do struggle sometimes, there is always a solution. From there on the journey has led me to play at Yoshi's and we we took a trip to Great America for number of competitions! As you can imagine we did better than we thought each time!
As the years went on I continued playing and practicing landing gigs whenever I could. I am now in a band and we’ve been together for over 4 years! I currently play at venues for if you ever wanted to hear my playing in person.
I am open and always listening to others for their approach, ideas, and constructive criticism, which is why I take my craft seriously! I hope to join you on this journey so that you too can start jamming!
