About Mykel
I help people understand how to approach concepts taught in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and statistics/econometrics. I help people to understand the math behind the concepts and models used in these fields of study so that it is accesible and not a mystery.
I really enjoy helping people learn in the end. I never provide answers. I show people how to tackle a problem step by step. I also encourage practice, as practice leads to mastery. The greatest thrill is when I can help a person realize they can do the work and succeed.
I have a BS in Economics from Pennsylvania State University, Summa Cum Laude. I have also spent over 25 years helping clients leverage their data to produce economic insights as to how to realign resources to remain competitive and profitable.

I spend about 5 minutes to do introductions, to get a sense of the person. Part of this involves asking questions about current classes and where they have found themselves tripping up. Once I identify these trouble spots, I am in a better position to explain what is going on and help the person unravel the mysteries. "Tearing apart the math" is a mantra and process I use to help break down problems into smaller pieces and then reintegrate them back together.
