About Hope
Hello! It's such a pleasure to meet you. Teaching and inspiring people to love to learn has been my passion since I was a little kid forcing her younger sister and dolls to "play school" with her. I have fostered and grown that passion through my work as a nanny, camp counselor, volleyball and soccer coach, religion teacher, and more. I can't wait to share my love of learning with you and help you grow along the way!
I've been teaching, coaching, babysitting, and tutoring since 2014. I've been awarded Camp Counselor of the Week multiple times and my volleyball teams and students have aced their games and tests. Most importantly, they have begun to love what they're doing. I believe that if you love something, it isn't work. This philosophy leads me to create an environment that is fun, exciting, and personalized to you. My goal is not to have you just hunker down and pass a test, but for you to develop a positive mindset which will create a desire to learn and make passing tests a byproduct of a healthy relationship with school.
I love kids and I love learning. These passions have guided me in every career field. When I worked for the Wisconsin State Capitol, I researched Early Childhood Development and Education. When I wanted to be more involved at my church, I began to teach first-grade religion class. I adore the way younger people look at the world with joy. Unfortunately, most times school does not have that same joyful attitude! What I most enjoy about the work I do is seeing that joy reenter how people view school and fuel them to be successful in their future.
Since I am the oldest sibling, I like to think I have always been teaching! Officially, I began teaching Religion Classes and coaching volleyball in my sophomore year of high school (2014-2015). I volunteered in these positions since I love both children and volleyball and my faith.

For my first meeting with a new student, I want to get to know them and their goals as best I can. This will change depending on the age of a student (I'll ask a first grader what their favorite animal is and a high schooler what their college goals are). After getting to better know a student, I will begin working with them to reach their goals- whether that be spelling at a third-grade level or passing high school algebra. We will have regular SMART goals to meet, but since each student is different, their goals will be flexible to them.
I've worked with many different types of students varying from ADD/ADHD elementary students to college students who need help with statistics to ADHD high schoolers. I love meeting different people and I am open to working with any kind of student.
My husband and I recently got a puppy and a kitty! Our puppy, Jax, is five months old and our kitty, Juniper, is around seven months old. Jax loves to go on walks and he is incredibly cuddly. What's very crazy, though, is that Juniper is pregnant! We had no idea when we rescued her, but apparently cats can have babies as young as six months old. My husband and I are very excited to meet our new kittens but also a bit nervous since we've never had baby kittens before!

My mom and dad made me get a tutor for religion class and I didn't want to have one but then it was actually really fun with Miss Hope and I learned about the Bible and prayers through games and activities.
Hope really cares about if you understand the material and she has many different ways to teach you. She makes leaning fun!
Hope is incredibly fun and patient. She really worked with me to phrase things in a way I understand. It was fun being with her and I didn't hate doing my math as much. She was not just a tutor but she was also like a friend and it was enjoyable to work with her on things
