About Tanner
I offer personalized tutoring that focuses on intellectual growth and development. Rather than memorizing copious amounts of information, my students will learn core principles that enable them to move beyond quick, shallow results and grasp the subject with a deeper understanding.
I've been tutoring students from grade school to college for five years. Although I specialize in academic writing, I also tutor students in philosophy, psychology, history, and classical literature. As an undergraduate student I studied philosophy and classical literature at Biola University. I received high commendation as a distinguished member of the Torrey Honors Institute. During my time as I student tutored younger classmen in essay writing and assisted professors in philosophical and psychological research.
I started tutoring when I became a mentor for a young adults program called Youth Horizons. Since that time I have tutored younger classmen when I attended university and a diverse age group at the company Tutor Zone.
I currently work for the company Tutor Zone. Through this company I have recieved training in tutoring students from grade school to college in mathematics, SAT prep, reading and writing, history, psychology, and philosophy. I work well in all these areas; however, I specialize in academic writing.

I like to meet my students and learn about their education goals. After this, I generally develop a personalized plan for accomplishing those goals with them. As the student progresses with their personalized plan, then we adjust the plan for growth, new goals, and, if necessary, correction.
Make sure that you hire a teacher that knows how to discuss your topics well. This is true for all subjects, but it is especially true for writing. If your teacher does not know how to communicate in your terms, then it will be difficult to learn from them.
