About Diana
As a certified K-6 teacher with 3.5 years of teaching and tutoring experience, I provide high quality academic instruction in reading, writing, and math for elementary and middle school students. I hold Bachelors and Masters degrees in education, and the expertise provided by my training allows me to ensure academic growth for my students. Additionally, I have one year of private tutoring experience with strong academic improvement documented for all of my students. I genuinely love teaching, and tailor my instruction to meet each student's academic, developmental, and personal needs.
I discovered my love for working with children through my years as a summer camp counselor in high school. Then, as I entered college, my passion for education grew as I recognized that education can greatly improve the lives of individuals as well as create positive change in our society overall. With each subsequent day of teaching, this passion and dedication grows as I watch my students thrive as learners and people under my instruction and care.

I always begin by speaking with the student's family (and their teachers if possible) to listen to the concerns and observations that they can provide about the student's learning goals and needs. Next, I evaluate the student through written and verbal assessments to acertain their areas of strength and areas for improvement. Finally, I design a learning plan that will best fit the student's personality, learning stye, and academic goals.
I have worked with general education and special education students in my capacity as a teacher in an ICT classroom. I have additionally worked with many English Language Learners.
