About Nora
I have experience working in-person and remotely with students through my intensive AmeriCorps training.
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a concentration in Race, Class, and Privilege from Loyola University New Orleans. In college, I was involved with various volunteer and social justice-based extracurriculars. I am passionate about social justice and I strive to work with organizations and companies that have a vision of a more equitable society.
I love that aha moment whens something finally clicks! It brings me joy to see students succeed in tackling challenging concepts.
I have experience with tutoring through two years of AmeriCorps service Great Oaks Legacy Charter Schools in Newark, NJ. There, I tutored 5th and 6th grade Math and ELA as well as special education students. Additionally, I have experience managing a team of AmeriCorps tutors.

I have found this is most effective when I make efforts to find out more about my clients interests and motivations.
I have worked primarily with middle school students and I have some experience working with high schoolers.
