About Nicole
Hello! My name is Nicole Ruthven, and I am so excited to work with you. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and over 15 years of experience writing and editing. I work as a professional editor, helping students and professionals perfect their voice and their words with careful, thoughtful edits and guidance.
While I love to write my own words, there's something absolutely magical about working with someone else's creation and helping them say what they're struggling to say. I find it to be the most fulfilling and joyful work.
I also work for an online education company, helping other tutors and experts answer questions for students. I love helping other learn, grow and improve in their writing abilities.
I love helping students and professionals find their "a-ha" moment with their writing, particularly after they've become stuck or discouraged with what they've created. Every piece of writing has brilliance in it--it just sometimes takes a little work to let it really shine. Together, we'll make your work the best it can be, and you'll discover what a great writer you really are.
I have a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and served as the editor-in-chief of the university's undergraduate literary journal, reviewing thousands of editorial submissions from writers across the country. I managed a team of editors on two coasts as the co-managing editor for an online press release company before it was sold to a public company in a multi-million dollar deal.
I have a BA in English Literature from Western Washington University, where I was the editor in chief of the university's undergraduate literary journal. I have tutored students and worked as a professional editor and writer for nearly 15 years and have completed my 150 hour TOEFL certificate.
