About Raanan
I like to help people sharpen up and develop their full potential in English. I've been teaching English since 1991 in Florida and then, believe it or not, in Jerusalem, Israel where I've taught almost every type of person in this country.
I've also edited extensively for two different media outlets as well as two different attorneys. I'm currently tutoring a PhD student in virology as well as 9th graders with ZERO knowledge of English.
I have a B. A. in English from University of South Florida as well as an M. A. in English Education.
Most teachers stop training after they've attained their academic degrees, but I've been taking an average of four courses a year of in-service teacher training, so I'm really on my game.
Beyond that, I'm constantly experimenting in class (I teach at an at-risk high school) to see what tweeks work. I've also experimented heavily while working at the U.S. Embassy's American Center where I'm not bound by state curriculum.
