About Laura
We offer top notch tutoring in the areas of writing and editing from an Ivy-educated, doctorate-holding, published writer and editor.
From newspaper articles and college essays to academic treatises, I have written and edited it all. My passion for the written word developed when I was a child and I seek to inspire children and adults to find and explore that same passion.
I enjoy sharing my love of communication through the written word and inspiring others to feel similarly.
While I have always enjoyed sharing my knowledge and editing skills with others, I decided to standardize my help and begin charging for my services as a way of supplementing my legal career during the pandemic. I come from a family of teachers and my interaction with children often leads others to assume I am in fact a full-time teacher. I consider this to be a great compliment.

We begin with a discussion of goals. Is the student working on a specific project? Seeking to develop or advance their general skills in an area? Is there a specific timeline they seek to work within? Next comes an analysis of a previous written sample, so I can assess where the student's strengths and weaknesses lie. Finally, we develop an individualized lesson plan and schedule that will get the student where they want to be.
Make sure they are teaching YOU specifically, and not applying a general curriculum to your needs. You are an individual and deserve to be treated as such. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses and a good teacher relies on their knowledge of both to help a student best develop their skills.
