About Yolian
Hello!
My name is Yolian Ogbu and I am a currently a senior at the University of North Texas! Growing up, I've been told that I am a teacher at heart and find joy in helping folks reach milestones in their education journey. I have experience in teaching elementary and middle school math, reading, grammar, writing, etc. I also have niche experience in developing public speaking skills as I am a national award winning orator. As a first generation American, I am also skilled in teaching the English language ranging from speaking, reading, writing, or even pronounciations.
As your tutor, I would make sure I adapt my lessons to your current skill set and will be sure to set goals that you wish to reach with however much time we have.

I was a tutor and volunteer for Gideon Math and Reading center for over three years! During my time at university, I have also taken on several leadership positions where I've been tasked with presenting new concepts and information to groups of people.

We would have a phone or video call initially where we discuss what the student's goals are and expectations from our sessions. I could also provide a sample lesson to show how I personalize my sessions. Once we've developed clear goals and a timeline, we would discuss how often we are to meet, etc and I be sure to answer any questions the student may have!
I worked with students of all ages from kindergarten students to college students! I have also worked with students that have autism so I am able to specialize my lessons to any student's needs!
