About Doug
Hello, my name is Doug and I am looking forward to working with you. I retired aftter 32 years with our local Sheriff's Department. I was the primary instructor for the defensive tactics classes for 15 years. After that I taught computer skills to our deputies. I developed an extensive collection of how-to videos to help them learn how to use the various applications we used to manage prisoners in the jail.
After retiring I worked as a substitute teacher with a Montessori kindergarten class for 5 months. At the end of the year my family and i moved and I have continued as a substitute teacher here in North Carolina. I have filled in for elementary, middle and high school classes so far this year.
You should be able to see thatI enjoy teaching very much. I am very patient and am detail oriented. I expect to be able to help you learn new skills with a very collaborative approach. I will listen to your needs and address them to improve your knowledge.
