About Lauren
Hello there, it's wonderful to meet you! I am committed to helping students reach their academic goals and succeed in their studies. With a Bachelor's degree in Cinema and a minor in Drama, as well as a Master's degree in Directing Film and Television from the UK, I have a strong background in the arts and humanities. Additionally, I have experience working with ESL students in the Writing Center at Napa Valley College and coaching girls' water polo and badminton at the high school level.
My teaching philosophy centers around the belief that every student can succeed with the right support and guidance. I am patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping students understand the core subject matter. I believe that there are no silly questions and encourage my students to ask as many questions as they need to fully comprehend the material.
In addition to my academic credentials, I have also worked as a social media writer, video editor, and fiction writer. This diverse range of experiences has taught me the value of creativity, critical thinking, and effective communication. I bring these skills to my tutoring sessions and strive to help students develop their own unique strengths and abilities.
