About Miriam
I guide students and their families through the college application process, including choosing colleges that are the best fit for a student, helping with completing college applications and providing assistance on developing college application essays and personal statements, including UC personal insight essays.
Students I've worked with have been admitted to UCs, Cal States, and numerous private colleges and universities.
I attended UCLAs College Counseling program and have been working with students for 10+ years. I am a published writer and also worked in marketing/public relations for 20+ years so understand how to promote someone and make their essays and entire college application stand out from the competition.

I talk with the student virtually or in person to assess what they are trying to achieve and the timeframe that they need to accomplish the task. From there, we set a project timeline for tasks to be completed. I have students send me their essays before a Zoom or in-person meeting. If they are unable to write anything, I will brainstorm with them to create topic ideas and an outline. Once they have a first draft, I ask them to send it to me before we meet so that I can make edits and suggestions. Then, we continue with that process until we have a final essay that the student is satisfied with.
