About Amanda
Since September, I have been working as a statistics and women and gender studies tutor. I worked with students who were in the general population and students who had disabilities. I worked as a tutor at my university, Ohio Wesleyan University. My senior year of high school, I also helped tutor a 5 year old. She was struggling in reading, writing, and math and was at risk for being held back. Through my work with her, she not only was able to meet the expectations for her age, but surpassed them. I love tutoring because I once needed tutoring for the subjects I did not feel confident in. Being a tutor is a way for me to give back and make other students feel confident in the subjects they feel they are struggling in. One of the main ways I work with students is by having explain to me why they need to do each step so that way I can make sure they understand the processes and that way it will also build up their confidence.
I have taken statistics and received an A in the course. I am a current tutor for statistics and women and gender studies. I also received an A in women and gender studies.

The first few minutes of the first session, is us getting to know each other a little bit, such as why the student wanted tutoring because that will effect how I tutor the student. The work we do will normally revolve around what they are learning in class because that is where they will be taking the tests.
I have worked with elementary aged students and students in high school and college. I have also worked with students who have disabilities.
