About Dawn

Hello! I’m Dawn, a passionate and experienced GCSE Maths tutor based in Chippenham, Wiltshire.

I have been tutoring GCSE Maths professionally since 2009, helping students of all abilities overcome their challenges, build genuine confidence, and achieve top grades. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics, a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education), and have completed the NSPCC Child Protection for Tutors course. I am fully DBS checked for peace of mind.

My approach is built on personalised, structured learning using proven strategies. I know that school classrooms can't always provide the individual focus a student needs as they approach their GCSEs. That is why I work collaboratively with both the student and their family, providing clear feedback, extensive high-quality learning resources, and a calm, supportive environment.

About the lesson

My Teaching Approach

• Tailored & Structured: Every session is planned around the student’s specific gaps, school curriculum, and exam board requirements.
• Comprehensive Topics Covered: From foundational number work, algebra, and geometry to statistics, probability, surds, and upper/lower bounds.
• Confidence First: I demystify tricky topics (like BIDMAS, quadratic formulae, and graphs) using clear, step-by-step methods that make maths click.
• Collaborative Style: I set clear expectations and encourage active participation so students take ownership of their learning and progress.

Lessons are for students from Y7 to Y11 and are 50 minutes long.
