About Olivia
My passion for being an educator is deeply rooted in my passion for being a student, one who avidly seeks out new learning opportunities. I am deeply connected to the values of lifelong learning instilled in me through my liberal arts education and I consider my own practice and knowledge to be continually evolving. I began working as a French tutor while completing my undergraduate work in 2013 and I've been working with students ever since. Though I teach in a university environment, I also continue to teach online in a one-on-one environment because it allows me the opportunity to customize a student's learning plan and help them find joy in the process.
I offer a range of services from coursework help to individualized learning plans for adult students to Francophone travel consults. I don't use a set curriculum or a textbook; instead, I choose and design activities based on the individual. Upon request, I also provide "homework" or assigned practice outside of our meetings. When appropriate, I also provide progress reports to parents. I pride myself on establishing a rapport with my students and incorporating their unique interests into our lessons.
My online classroom is a place for students to grow and improve, but never to be perfect. I look forward to making mistakes, having fun, and learning French with you!
