About Gesa
Hello, my name is Gesa and I'm originally from Germany.
I am happily married, mom to the best three (almost) teenage boys and have recently moved to the US.
When I don't work, I like to read, travel and enjoy Florida. :)
Even though I've studied something totally different, I've always been tutoring and have been doing so for more than 20 years now. I really enjoy seeing students when it "clicks" in their heads so I know they "got it". :)
So I didn't only tutor kids in my hometown, I also worked as a substitute teacher in an elementary school for 2,5 years before moving to the US.
During that time, I became class teacher and taught first and later second grade students. But I was also teaching 3rd and 4th grader.
I like to get to know new students first. Teaching and tutoring always depends on having a good relationship. If a student doesn't feel comfortable with me, he or she will never open up and - the most important part - have FUN while learning.
So that's very important for me: building up a good relationship, feeling comfortable and then learning while having fun. :)
