Can't say enough positive things about my experience with European Language Center. Christine was the teacher I was hoping to find! After several attempts to learn French (at different language schools and colleges she was my perfect match. She is PATIENT, kind and well prepared to greet her students at whatever level they present themselves. I was a beginner. A nervous anxious beginner. Her calm energy was a breath of fresh air. She is always ready to move you forward but will pull back if needed. As a woman in my 50's it was challenging but so rewarding. I was able to navigate Paris on my own with confidence because of my language skills. She will cater your lessons to meet your needs The one-on-one was the best way for me.

I'm not sure where to even begin. Easily the best instructor I have ever had for any subject. I ended up doing around 15 or so lessons with her and was able to communicate (albeit at a fairly basic level) with French speakers. She set up a custom lesson plan tailored to my abilities and brought years of her personal experience as a teacher in Switzerland as well as in the USA. She was always able to help on whatever questions I had and would help me understand through plenty of examples. I would continue to take classes with her until I was completely fluent if I could. She can do in-person or online classes. I did in-person because it's easier for me and every class was a fantastic learning experience and felt more like going to visit a friend than anything. I have nothing but positive things to say and can only give my personal stamp of approval. 11/10 best use of my free time I've made to better myself. If you want to learn French (or one of the other languages she instructs) do yourself a favor and send her a message!

Christine Hebert is the most conscientious, best prepared, pedagogical language teacher I have ever worked with. I have worked with Christine on two separate occasions. I hired Christine 12 years ago to teach my children French and a year ago to teach me German. Thanks to Christine, my children who are college students now obtained a solid base in French and still sing the French songs she taught them back then while accompanying them on her guitar. As for myself, Christine custom-prepared German lessons for me keeping up with my demanding style and requirements to where she would email me after only a few weeks into our lessons Hermann Hesse poems. Christine modifies the level, the speed and the style of her teaching sessions to fit her student's needs, personality and mood. She is truly a gem of a language teacher and I recommend her highly. My elementary school aged daughters have been taking German lessons from Christine Hébert for over a year. She is an outstanding language teacher who is devoted to her students. She uses creative approaches to both challenge and inspire. For example, she plays games, creates scavenger hunts and uses our dollhouse to help with vocabulary and make learning this difficult language fun. She created a “contract” (with a friendly smile) to ensure they follow through with their homework. She challenges them to master complicated grammatical concepts and gives European Language exams to assess and motivate progress. She even bakes Swiss and German delicacies with them (in German of course). They look forward to her lessons because she takes such care to teach and challenge them at their individual levels. I cannot recommend her enough: she is truly a rare find!!

I am in 6th grade, and I have been taking private German lessons from Frau Christine for 1 or 2 years now.

I have to say that my German has improved tremendously just because of her. She teaches through culture and day to day conversations, making learning German comfortable. She, as a person, is someone who listens, understands and talks to you. At this moment, I am reading a chapter book, "Das Doppelte Lottchen" with Frau Christine. I also work in several workbooks when she assigns it. She is a very, very organized educator, and doesn't load and overwhelm students with the language, like other German American Schools have done to me. For the first time, I have been feeling like I will be fluent in German. During lessons with Frau Christine, I forget that I am in America. She magically leads you into a world where the grammar comes naturally. She has made me WANT to learn German. I recommend this amazing teacher for any young student, especially if they already know how to speak a little German.
